About Us - Sub-Committees

The Accounts Sub-committee addresses Accounting, Regulatory and Tax issues of concern or relevance to the SRA members.

The committee comprises of finance managers, accountants, auditors, and industry practitioners with expertise in financial management and reporting within the industry.

Some specific responsibilities from Accounts Sub-Committee: to ensure financial transparency, integrity and compliance with accounting standards and regulations governing reinsurance activities.

The Education Sub-Committee promotes education, training, and professional excellence amongst industry practitioners by organizing seminars and courses that are practical, topical, and of broad interest to our members.

The goal is to raise awareness and knowledge of individuals working in or aspiring to join the reinsurance industry.

Past programs include "Managing Secondary Perils", "Cyber Risks", and "Leadership 'Lunch-and-Learn' talks."

The HR Sub-Committee addresses human resources-related opportunities and challenges within the reinsurance industry.

The subcommittee consists of HR professionals, talent management experts, and industry practitioners with experience managing workforce issues specifically in the reinsurance sector.

The group shares experiences in implementing and executing human resources strategies that attract, retain, and develop talent, provide feedback on industry talent and development needs, and support corporate social responsibility activities.

RLC focuses on Legal and regulatory matters pertaining to the reinsurance industry.

This committee consists of legal experts, compliance professionals and industry practitioners with a deep understanding of legal and regulatory landscape of governing reinsurance activities in Singapore.

Some specific responsibilities from RLC Sub-Committee: to ensure members companies comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, promoting ethical conduct and maintaining integrity of the reinsurance market.

The social sub-committee supports one of the SRA's key priorities, which is to foster strong social bonds within industry and beyond.

The subcommittee organizes and participates in various social and networking events to create a sense of community and promote mutual support among members and industry friends.  Some signature events include the SRA Annual Golf Day and Members' Drinks-n-Bites.

The Technical Sub-Committee leverages underwriting and risks expertise to proactively engage on strategic and technical matters supporting the development of the reinsurance market. It represents members in engagements with other stakeholders such as regulators and direct insurers. The TSC also supports industry capacity building on sustainability topics.

Launched in 2016, Women in Reinsurance (WiRE) Singapore provides platform and network for women to share knowledge, discuss issues impacting the industry and further the development and promotion of women in the reinsurance industry. With over 600 network members, WiRE launches initiatives and host events to inspire and motivate women talents to pursue their ambition and achieve their full career potential. Our events include mentoring, personal development workshops and networking events.
