The SRA's Women in Reinsurance (WiRE) Sub-Committee capped a successful first year with its third event of the year - a Year-end Networking event - at the Boulevard @ MBFC on Tuesday, 6 December 2016. WiRE's main focus in the first year had been to build the community and provide networking opportunities. Since its official launch event in September, WiRE had hosted a TED-style talk with businesswomen sharing their personal experiences on how diversity had played a significant part in their journey in becoming an entrepreneur.
Welcoming over 50 industry practitioners at the Networking event, WiRE Sub-Committee member, Ms Anna Kohls said: “At our launch event, we asked the WiRE community to vote for the activity that would most interest them and keep them actively involved with WiRE. Networking was the number one priority by far for most respondents, and we have taken their feedback seriously”. Expanding one’s network was adopted as the theme for the event, and guests were challenged to make as many new connections as possible, incentivised by prizes for the best networkers of the night.
Mr Kenrick Law, an SRA Executive Committee member and Regional CEO and Head of P&C Client Management Asia Pacific at Allianz Re, which kindly sponsored the event, said: “We are pleased to see the achievements made by WiRE in its first year. Their plans for 2017 are a compelling offering for our talented women in the industry”.
