The Singapore Reinsurers' Association (SRA) Education Sub-Committee recently organised an insightful in-person seminar titled “Unravelling Legal Dynamics: USA vs Asia Pacific,” kindly hosted by Berkley Re Asia Pacific.
Led by Glen Riddell, CEO of Berkley Re Asia Pacific, the session provided a comprehensive overview of the US legal environment and how its current developments are shaping claims and underwriting for reinsurers. This sharing was complemented by a pre-recorded interview with W.R. Berkley’s SVP Claims together with an engaging discussion with Summer Montague, Partner at DAC Beachcroft, where participants gained valuable perspectives on the nuanced differences between the US and Asia Pacific legal systems and its implications on casualty insurance across regions.
The 2 hour-long session was wrapped up with a lively Q&A before participants adjourned for an engaging networking session that saw meaningful conversations and new connections made.
