SRA joins local insurance fraternity in SG50 charity fund raising effort
The SRA joined hands with the rest of the Singapore insurance fraternity to mark the 50th year of Singapore's independence by organising a special charity golf tournament, "SG50 Insurance Golf - Swing for Charity" at the Singapore Island Country Club on 15 July 2015. The event capped efforts by the industry to raise over S$500,000 (US$367,000) for seven beneficiaries - the Children’s Cancer Foundation, the National Kidney Foundation, Pertapis Education and Welfare Centre, Singapore Buddhist Free Clinic, Singapore Heart Foundation, St John’s Home for Elderly Persons and the ST School Pocket Money Fund. The day's celebrations culminated with a gala dinner graced by Guest-of-Honour, Education Minister Heng Swee Keat, who joined members of the SG50 Insurance Golf Steering and Organising Committees to cut the specially-designed SG50 birthday cake.
