Mr Richard Lim

Richard Lim joined China Re in December 2015 as a Consultant and was officially appointed as the Chief Executive for the Singapore Branch with the responsibility of expanding its operations to the Asia Pacific region in 2016.

Richard has been in the Re/Insurance industry for over 35 years and has held senior positions in various organization prior to joining China Re.
He was the CEO for Asia Pacific Region at Everest Re, setting up the Singapore Branch in 1997. In 2008, Richard joined Lloyd's Syndicate 1965 as Executive Director and Chief Reinsurance Underwriter and in 2011 he was with Hardy Underwriting Asia as the Managing Director at the Lloyd's Asia Platform.

During his career, Richard had served as a Council Member of the Singapore Insurance Institute from 2004 to 2005 and was also a member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore -Financial Centre Advisory Panel China Work Group from 2016 to 2018. He was conferred the title of IBF Distinguished Fellow by The Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore in 2017, in recognition for his many years of contribution, development and promotion of Singapore as an international reinsurance hub. From Nov  2020 to Nov 2022, Richard was an active participant in the Financial Sub-Committee Advisory Group (CAG) of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity.
