This year, we expanded the SRA University Student Visits. We brought together more than 55 students from NUS, NTU, SMU, and SUSS for an immersive experience at our member companies’ premises to learn about what a career in reinsurance has to offer.
Students visited Lloyd’s Asia Singapore and Howden, gaining different perspectives into the reinsurance ecosystem. At Lloyd’s, they gained an understanding of how the Lloyd’s market brings together underwriting expertise and specialist risk-taking. At Howden, they explored the role of a global reinsurance broker in connecting clients and markets and structuring solutions to manage risk.
From underwriting and actuarial work to data analytics and risk modelling, the students gained insights into the industry's diverse career opportunities. They also had the opportunity to engage directly with business leaders and hear first-hand about their experiences and career journeys.
Our goal extends beyond teaching reinsurance concepts. We aim to inspire the next generation to use their skills and perspectives to advance the future of risk and resilience. Building a strong talent pipeline is essential, and programmes like this provide valuable insight into rewarding industry careers.
Thank you to Lloyd’s Asia Singapore and Howden for welcoming our students, sharing your expertise, and inspiring future talent.
