Beyond the AI Hype: Wordings, Claims and Fraud in the Age of Algorithms ðŸ¤–

On 27 August 2026, the SRA Legal & Compliance Sub-Committee hosted 45 participants at PartnerRe for an insightful joint seminar exploring the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence on the insurance and reinsurance industry.

The session explored how AI is moving beyond hype and into practical applications across policy wordings, claims processes and fraud management, while examining the opportunities and emerging risks for reinsurers.

Grant shared insights on AI and emerging risks, including the use of large language models in policy wordings and claims, as well as the implications for confidentiality, legal privilege, evidential controls and AI-related exposures.

🎤 Rudolf Frei, Managing Director – Asia, IBNR Management Consulting

Rudolf explored the importance of risk-based claims fraud data and information, including MAS’ Insurance Fraud Risk Guidelines, and how insurers and reinsurers can strengthen fraud management practices in the face of evolving fraud threats and advances in fraud detection technologies.

A practical and candid session that highlighted both the opportunities and challenges AI presents to the insurance and reinsurance industry.
