With COVID-19 safe distancing regulations preventing in-person gatherings of any sort, the #SRA decided to re-configure its 6th intake of the half-day #Basic #Reinsurance #Concepts course as a two-part #webinar. The response to these 90-minute webinars was tremendous, with the 100-ticket capacity webinars sold out within 48 hours of its announcement. This #introductory-level course, which is aimed at equipping staff from non-operational functions with fundamental knowledge of reinsurance concepts and terms, is being conducted by Mr. Shiva Iyer, a 35-year industry veteran who is Executive Director of Technical Advisory Services at Aon Singapore.
The first of the two-part live webinars was held on Thursday 2 July and attracted 102 participants from 26 SRA member companies. Of these, 14 participants joined the webinar from outside Singapore, including from Malaysia, Indonesia, India, South Korea and even as far as the UK. The second live webinar will be conducted this coming Monday, 6 Jul. With the strong demand for these live webinars, the SRA is planning another intake, likely sometime in late August.
